Some people know him as Cassius Clay, some know him as the greatest heavyweight boxer ever and some just know him as Muhammad Ali. He coined his boxing style as “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.” Ali beat all the amateurs in his weight class and well-known boxers like Joe Frazier, George Foreman, and Sonny Liston.
Ali was very outspoken whether it was politics or degrading his opponent. He often mocked his opponents and told them when he would knock them out; he was the king of trash talking. Ali won numerous awards throughout his career (three-time World Champion, Gold Medalist, Sportsman of the Century, etc..).
On this day January 11, he was awarded a star on the Walk of Fame. Ali wanted his star on the wall not the ground so it wouldn’t be walked on.
